Stan Smith, VE3DDX


Stan was first licensed as VE3IOI in April 1977. He received his electronics training in the RCAF and was a radar technician on the first wholly Canadian designed jet fighter, the CF100. Stan subsequently spent over 30 years as an electronic designer for mechanical and electronic circuit board layouts for low and high power RF TV transmitters.

His favourite Amateur radio activities are chasing special event stations and building small projects,

Stan has been doing the illustrations and photographs for the Study Guides since the late 1980's.

Stan has been the draftsman and graphics manager for the following Coax Publications Inc publications:

  •   - The Canadian Amateur Radio Basic Qualification Study Guide (since 1988)
  •   - The Canadian Amateur Radio Advanced Qualification Study Guide (since 1997)
  •   - Instructors' Guide for the Basic Qualification

Stan is the Treasurer of Coax Publications Inc.
